Primary and Secondary Sources Comparison

Both the sources of primary and secondary can be unreliable and can have bad information.  Primary source is supposed to come form an eyewitness or a person that was at the event. Some examples of primary sources are a diary or a letter. Secondary source is when someone a writer uses a primary source to cover a story. A few examples of secondary source are history books or biographies. They are both very helpful because then it would be all opinions and not facts, the world would be in chaos trying to figure out what is real and whats not!

Inspirational Rhyming Poem

I once was a kid
Playing was all I did
I tried to lie
but they knew I fibbed
Now Im a teen
feels like theres nothing to be seen
I hate my life
Only because it's just a fight
People tell me to hold on tight
But I don't think I have enough might
You say my dear
You shall have no fear
Just put your life in gear
For life will become clear

"The Ballad of Birmingham" Pargraph

The poem “The Ballad of Birmingham” is about a young girl going to church (the safest known place) and then is killed in an explosion.  This poem made me feel that there is no place that is really safe from anything. {"No, baby, no, you may not go, For the dogs are fierce and wild, And clubs and hoses, guns and jails Aren't good for a little child."} In the poem knowing that downtown was unsafe and the church was, made it seem like an obvious spot to get bombed. {“Then lifted out a shoe. ‘O, here's the shoe my baby wore, But, baby, where are you?’”} I also felt sad for the mother who had to find her baby’s shoe in the crumbles left from the church.

S.P.A. Poem

(Metaphor) Life here is the same as watching a movie
There are actors
There are kids
What movie this is
A comedy so funny that its not
A horror so bad that I only laugh
A love story or just a lie
The people you see here
They go faster than the wind
How long will they stay
(Simile) And stay in a place like a tree’s roots
The teachers we see will soon go and we will flow
The memory of them will stay behind
(Personification) But soon this river of hope
Will turn to a river of hate
Forever
This place is in mind
The fights, the rumors, the life

Love Paragraph

What is love and how do we know what it is? Why is there puppy love and then real love?  I wonder these things daily. I wonder if love is even real, I also wonder if I will find the one I love. I used to say "I Love You" a lot. Like to my boyfriends when I would just start going out with them, I wonder if they even knew what love meant then. I'm reading a book in Ms.Green's class called "Elsewhere" and one of the chapters talk about love and the chapter is saying to the readers (us) that love is not in the backseat of a car. Its the small tings that you do with the one you love, like brushing your teeth something that you do (or should do) every day. If love was real I hope that I don't fall in love and then end up getting hurt like all the other people do. To me myself and I love is well... L-O-V-E

"Folding Wan Tons In" Paragraph

Wordle: UntitledOne food that I have made from memory is bacon! I love these foods; I love making it, the smell of it, and mostly the taste of it! The thing that makes me want to make the food is that it reminds me of home and my father! The five senses of my food are the smell of meat, the taste of a pig, sight of bubbles on the frying pan, the sound of the sizzle, and the feeling of the burning oil jumping onto my skin! I learned how to cook bacon by watching my father make it and trying, I always burned it though and now I can make it perfectly to the way I like it! Its special to me because it was the first thing I ever cooked in my life!

"Women Work" Chores

The author is saying that she does not like doing chores because she has to work all day and has a lot to do. Some chores around my house is clean my bedroom, vacuum the living room, set the dinner table, and wipe down the counter tops, I don’t like to do any of the chores, only cleaning my room. I think that the author is trying to tell me that chores are hard work but they still have to be done.

"Country Scene" Paragraph

The author is trying to tell us readers, that everything fades or lasts forever. “The waterfall plunges in mist” meaning that a strong waterfall full of water will fade and turn into mist. “the long white river sliding through” meaning that this will last forever never ending going on and on. “just like love. Poetry only lasts.” Meaning, that love will go and that the words of this poem will always be the same. By reading this poem to my understanding the author is trying to show us that things like waterfalls, shadows, a horns echo, and love will fade. As desolate land, a long white river, and poetry will last forever.

"Never Say Never" Imagery Song

The name of the song that would represent my life is Never Say Never Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith. "And there's just no turnin back", this part of the song means to me that when I face a problem that I got to fight it, and not run away. "I never thought that I could feel this power, I never thought that I could feel this free " when I hear this part of the song I feel and see in my mind me above all the people that try to drag me down. "now he's bigger than me, taller than me, and he's older than me, and stronger than me, and his arms a little bit longer than me" when I hear this part of the song I see all the bigger people than me, and it means to me that they are bigger than me, but they bigger they are the harder they fall. When I hear this song it makes me feel like I cant be anything but me and that life is what I make it!
Here is a link to the copy of the lyrics: LINK

This experience changed me because I never thought I wouldnt have been with my father for my life, and that I was going to be taken into the system.

Paragraph to Persuade You to Read My Poem

The name of my poems is “Fog” and “Fire and Ice”. Carl Sanburg and Rober Frost are the two writers of my poems. People should read these poems because they are nice poems and the writers have something to say. Someone might not want to read my poems because the names sound boring, but they still should because you cant read a poem by it title. They also should read the poems because the poems are short and sweet. The best part of my poems are that they connect by nature and make the reader think about what is going on.

"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" Paragraph

The poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost, creates a mood of darkness. "His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here" relates to the sense of sight, giving the reader feelings of someone wating for another. "Between the woods and frozen lake; The darkest evening of the year" relates to the senase of sight, feelings of beauty and darkness ease into the readers heart."He gives his harness bells a shake; To ask if there is some mistake; The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake." relates to the sense of hearing, it will fill the readers heart with childnss and the calmess of wind. "But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep" gives to the sense of sight, it will give the feelings of being focused and hjaving a goal. The use of imagery in poetry give the writer a freedom to express whatever they feel, in a way without giving harm to others, or having to keep it all inside.
