End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Achievement

My greatest achievement from the past two years was finishing this year’s school yearbook. Even though I have helped create and complete two yearbooks at this school, to me this year’s yearbook was different. I feel that this is my best and greatest achievement, because I tried and completed my tasks most of the time. I also went around to all the houses and put in extra work to raise money. I also hit a bump in the road when I did not want to do anything, put my teacher did not give up on me and keep pushing me till I got things done. In the end this incident has changed me to become a better worker and organizer. I am proud of my work on this year’s yearbook.

Portfolio - Future

 I feel that my future will be great, I am prepared for what might come, and I have people to lean on when I need to. Some of my goals for my future is to study at Humboldt State University, to become a Wildlife Biologist. To own a Ninja motorcycle and a one story house. To be in a stable relationship with a man or woman that I can trust. Have a couple of pets and be able to not worry about bills. Some of my previous experiences prepared me for my goals it that San Pasqual Academy teaching me independent life skills. Volunteering at an animal shelter also applying for Blue Apple Ranch a horse and animal rescue. I have also been in relationships that were not so great and that was not qualified to be a healthy relationship. To reach my goals I must continue to do good in all my classes, work with animals, and work on my savings skills. The people that will help me achieve my goals include my staff, Tia Moore, Ms.Priester, and other teachers. I do believe that I will achieve my goals because I am focused and when I want something I try my all to get it. People say that I have a lot of potential in life and that I am a strong independent woman. With all that people have said I do believe that my future is bright.

Personal Changes Blog Paragraph

When I was a freshman, I was kicked out of most my classes and got on restriction almost every day. Now, I am a responsible student and barely get on restriction. For example, Ms.Priester used to kick me out of her class every day because I would say inappropriate things. This shows that I was rude and didn't care about teachers, that I was disrespectful. This also shows that I have changed a lot since than because of the fact that when conferences come she says that I am good student and she is glad to have me in class. In addition, my staff gave up on giving my restriction because I would never listen to it anyways. This shows that I was rude and I didn't care about my actions. This also shows that now when my staff puts me on restriction for more than a day she takes off most of the days because I handle my restriction well most of the times. By my senior year, I hope to be ready for an independent life where I know when I do something wrong.

Trayvon Martin Paragraph

C. Explain the meaning of the statement ,"We are all Trayvon Martin." (hard)

By saying "We are all Trayvon Martin" is saying that he is just another person. He is like me and like you, just people who are walking around are Tratvon Martin. No matter what race, religion, skin color, and gender he was just another person that lived on this earth. When the many people stated that meaningful words, it also meant that it could have been any of us who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman. Trayvon was just the unlucky soul who was there at the wrong time, but it could have been a kid like me and an adult like my teachers, either way it would still have effected us all as it did. He was killed by a racist man, but everyone knows there are a lot of racist people, and that anyone could be killed at any moment. It means a lot to many people when it is understood that "We are all Trayvon Martin".

SPA Policy Blog Paragraph

One policy that I wish could be changed is that they will not let me be nude in my own house. Currently, this policy states that no student is allowed to run around naked in their own home. One reason it should be changed is because I live, sleep, eat, and use the bathroom in my house therefore I should be able to be naked in my own home. Also, it gets very hot in my house to the point where anyone would want to be naked. If this policy was changed, I would be very happy and take on the responsibility of having clothes on at the right time.

Academic Update Blog Paragraph

A: State your career goal & explain how you will achieve it.

My career goal is to to study and help endangered animals or a vet. This job involves animals, biology, and earth science. Along with love for animals. I want to do this because I have always wanted to help animals, especially endangered animals. I will achieve this goal by staying focused in school and keep helping the animals I happen to run into or own. I will remained motivated to become a zoologist by watching animal planet, and just walking the streets seeing stray dogs, cats, and etc.

Academic Language Week 35 - Sweatshops

Are sweatshops a violation of people's human rights?

Sweatshops are a violation of people's human rights.  One reason is the LABOR they are put through does not meet the pay that they recieve.  Not all people can live off of a pay of average $4.50 and will have to live on the streets.  Another reason to why is because They do not have a CONTRACT that APPLIES to them and can be fired at any moment.  A contract is made so that workers have to work for a certain amount of time before they can be fired by the boss.  The last reason why is because the factory setting is unhealthy with tempatures at about 100 degrees and the chemicals are very harmful to them.  The are of a worker effects the worker the most, and the conditions of a sweatshop does not compare to a normal factory, the factory can lead to the death of its many workers.  Thoose are three reasons to why  a sweatshops violates any human beings human rights.

Academic Language Week 31 - Teen Vandals

Parents of teen vandals should have to pay for the damage to the SPECIFIC property. One reason why is because the teen needs to know how to be responsible for their actions. As a parent their job is to teach their children how to be responsible. Another reason is because than the parent will COMPUTE the necessary punishment for their child. Without knowing how bad the damage was, the parent will just give the a minor consequence. The last reason why is because to ACHIEVE a better economy the tax should not go up, when the parent doesn't have to pay the tax goes up. In turn effecting the taxpayers loosing more money for everybody. Those are the reason why parents need to pay for their teens' damage to property.

Spring Break Blog Paragraph

B: Summarize your entire Spring Break

Through my entire Spring break I spent three days on restriction. My reason that I was put on restriction was for being rude to my staff after she would yell at me. On Tuesday I came home from lunch to find my room flooded! Our shower was clogged and all the water drained out to my room. I was given that day of restriction off because I couldn't stay in my room to avoid contact with the staff. So I spent most of the day with Aqua, Azjah, Alex, and Kyhree in front of Girls 8. For the rest of the week I mostly stayed over at Boys 3 with Azjah, we watched movies and played games with the boys. We were learning to play Modern Warfare 3 and watched as Kyhree played as Batman and Catwoman in the video game Batman: Arkham city. Lastly on Sunday the Grandparents threw everyone a huge block party, they had games set up and one of the Grandparents made snow cones for us all to eat, while we waited for the food to be done.

Academic Language Week 29 - School Conferences

Parents should not face jail time for missing their child's school conference. One reason is the government doesn't need to be filling jails with semi-harmless people.  The jails are TRANSFERRING the violent people who earn their way into jails.  Another reason is some students SEEK to be as independent.  Making a parent go to conferences and telling the parent to help the child, might very well not help the child at all. Additionally, there is many other RESOURCES for children to use, they can ask help from their teachers, friends, and even the web.  The don't really need to rely on the pressure from their parents to make them do better. In conclusion, no parent should have to leave their child to face jail times from missing a simple school conference.

Rain, Vacation, or Zombies vs Vampires Blog Post Paragraph

Would you rather be attacked by a zombie or a vampire? 

I would rather be attacked by a vampire instead of a vampire. To be bitten by a vampire would be cool because you would than live forever, plus it seems to be less painful than being attacked by a zombie. Becoming a vampire would make you super strong, fast, and you would never age. Some benefits to being attacked and bitten by vampire truly depends on what type of person you are. If you like to be alone than it would be great, you would live forever by yourself. If you loved to be around your family than it would suck to be you, you would have to watch as your family dies off and you would still walk the earth alone.  You wouldn't have to worry about people attack you because than you could kill them instead. The bad things about being a vampire would be that you would have to attack other people to live, and you wouldn't be able to go out and watch the sun or you would die. People would die and you would have to live alone or with other vampires. In the end I would still rather be attacked by a vampire than a vampire.

Academic Language Week 27 - Drug-Sniffing Dogs

School officials should'nt have the right to use drug-sniffing dogs because it effects not only the studnet, but the school as well.  One reason is that a dog can sniff drug throught a backpack or a locker, when the dog RESPONSES by barks the school ASSUMES that the student uses drugs.  That is not always the case, someone can always be framed and set up for this to happen.  It could be for payback, gang related, and other reasons.  Another reason is that every student has thier rights and privacy, it is a students choice to smoke, drink, sniff, or inject.  A student should not have to be put on blast for it.  A last reason is the PROCESS that the school has to go through, and if they catch anyone is that they have to report it, making the school seem bad.  It gives the school a rep that it has a basda security system, or that the school just doesn't care.  In conclusion drug-sniffing dogs, should never be used at a school to see if anyone has drugs. It is rude to everyone attending and to the school itself.

Testing Thoughts Paragraph

Prompt A: How do you feel about taking the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)?

I feel worried about taking the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). I know though that I have to maintain positive thoughts in myself. I am a little concerned that I will take to little of time to complete the test, and making many errors, and or forgetting something. I am confident that I pass this test, because I refuse to take it next year as a Junior. When I see my CAHSEE scores, I hope to feel confident in what I am doing is the correct way.

Academic Language Week 2 - Cars

I would want a car that can drive itself, because it would help the society, be safer, smarter, and more futuristic.  One reason is because having a car to do things on its own would save millions of lives.  There would be less alcohol, cell phone, and eyesight accidents to OCCUR on the road.  Also people wouldn’t have to worry about engine problems as much either.  Another reason is because the METHOD of having to know how to drive will be obsolete to the people who are not good at driving, like the young people or the elderly, won’t have to take control of the wheel.  Then no one has to worry about the crazy old people that can’t see or hear that well anymore, or the nervous young people who just learned how to drive.  Additionally, it brings us closer to the technology that we see in the movies, we could become so advanced we won’t have to worry about other issues as much.   If we get far enough in technology we might even PROCEED to be able to live in outer space and not have to worry about oxygen or food. In conclusion, having a car that can drive itself will help the world today and be a step closer to a future. 

Homonyms Practice Blog Paragraph

I peered out of the doorway and THERE I saw two aliens walking down the street, and behind them I saw THEIR huge t-rex.  I ran to tell my mother what I had just seen, but she didn’t believe me not one bit. All she said to me as she waved her finger in my face, “THERE is no such thing as aliens or dinosaurs anymore. THEY’RE just part of YOUR imagination!”  I know what I had seen and I had to find someone who would believe me. So I ran outside and I looked and I looked, I ran through stores, I ran to my friends, but no one would be that I saw aliens walking THEIR t-rex.  I gave up and I sat down.  Behind I heard thuds, and I thought to turn around, but if I did what would I see.  I started to think, maybe THEY’RE right, and maybe it was just my imagination.   As I was walking home I started to get lost, I sat down and started to cry when a voice came behind me and said, “Excuse my boy, but why are you crying?” I didn’t reply I just cried and cried.  “I think he’s looking for his home Bob.”  Another voice had said, so I nodded my head.  “Oh! If that is so, my dear boy YOUR home is that way, not too far away.” I looked to see that the aliens and THEIR t-rex were standing over me.  I jumped up in surprise and yelled out loud “YOU’RE real, I know you were real! I tried to tell my mother but she wouldn’t believe what I had seen.” I ran to the way that they had said was the way to my house, and ran home yelling to my mother.  “I was right I was right, THEY’RE real, mommy I saw them again I swear I did.”  My mother frowned and said to me with anger in her voice.  “What did I say to you son, aliens are not real, now you’re YOUR imagination to YOU’RE room I don’t want to hear a single peep from you!”  I went to my room and sat on my bed, I started to cry but I stopped and said “I know they are real I do and if no one believes me than that’s fine with me.” 

Academic Language Week 21 - Steroids

Performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids, should not be allowed in sports. The nation's traditions do not include such repulsive drugs. A man should be able to become big and strong on his own, no with drugs. The Olympics primary rules also state that there cannot be use of such a drug to compete. When people use the steroids, they are making other people less confident too. This then causes the Olympics to have less people in the events. Lastly in this period of time, women don't tend too look for men on steroids. Using performance enhancing drugs in the end just ruins most peoples' lives.

Academic Language Week 22 - Felons Voting

Felons should also have the right to vote. Felons are citizens of the U.S.A just like we are. As citizens are known to have the right to take part n voting so should the felons that are locked up. They make up a SOURCE for voting too, since there is a lot of felons out there, they can make a change in the world. They have done bad I agree, but they should still be part of our COMPLEX society. What if a new law come out and had to deal with the felons, they wouldn't be able to vote on whats for them. The should be able to known what might happen to them if a new law comes out and states something about felons in the U.S.A. They are just as RELEVANT to voting, they might have voted before they were locked up, why would we have to take that away from them. They broke the laws, but they should still have a voice of reason in the country, we call this country the home of the free and land of brave. Where did their freedom go, since they did something bad, everyone does they are the only one who got caught doing it. That is why I believe that felons should be allowed to take part in voting!

The heat outside it like the sun itself

I look to rest

As I sit I unzip my bag

I pull out the ice cold drink

As I hear the hiss as I pop it open

My mouth waters as if I swallowed a ocean

Soon the tatse of a watermelon flows down my thraot

The cold juice is like a shield to this heat

Second Semester 2012 Goals

My goal for the second semester of the 2011-2012 school year is to go to the Knotts' Berry Farm trip. I selected this goal because it was super fun to go last year, and also because you have to earn the trip. So it makes that much more fun to go to, to have to get good grades to miss a day of school to have fun! I will achieve this goal by doing all my homework, classwork, and participating/dress out in pe. At the end of the semester, I will know I achieved my goal by getting to go on the trip!
