Prompt A: How do you feel about taking the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)?
I feel worried about taking the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). I know though that I have to maintain positive thoughts in myself. I am a little concerned that I will take to little of time to complete the test, and making many errors, and or forgetting something. I am confident that I pass this test, because I refuse to take it next year as a Junior. When I see my CAHSEE scores, I hope to feel confident in what I am doing is the correct way.

First Person Narrator: House Parent/Lead Staff Point of View Larua
Today, towards the end of my shift at Girls One as the lead staff, I thought it would be funny to make one of the girls mad. So I took one of their phones promising to give it back the next day. Than I told her that she couldn’t have it back until her restriction was served. When I told her this I waited to see her reaction, she got very mad and will all her strength she pushed down the water jug. It was hilarious to watch her get so mad and hear her slam her door. When 11:00 came around and the overnight showed up, I decided than to leave. Telling the overnight that it wasn’t my job to take care of the student, it was her shift and walk out laughing at the overnight and angry student.

"Two Kinds" Before You Read: Something You Don't Want to Do
I was currently living in girls one at San Pasqual Academy. It was a day after a huge fist fight with another girl. San Pasqual Academy had told me that I couldn’t go to school. The adults was expecting me to sit quietly in my house and do nothing. Knowing that I felt really mad at them, because I wanted to go to school. I knew that it was going to get really boring just sitting in my house. So I tried to talk them into letting me go to school, but they didn’t let me. In the end my staff talked me into just watching t.v. the office even let me use one of the gaming systems that they had locked up. They day went by fast, and when school was over I was allowed to go outside.

Response to Priester's Syllabus
I feel that English 10 is going to be easy this year. I think that the grading system looks easier and that it might help some people with their grades. Ms.Priester’s rules on tardies, is fair, because most students walk into class and be loud or distract others. Most of Ms.Priester’s rules seem fair. She is very helpful and I think that a lot of students will benefit from tutoring after school. A lot of the students here do need help and the most help we get is Derek. I hope that this year I wont have a lot of missing assignments or tardies.

Portfolio – Greatest Accomplishment
My greatest accomplishment was learning how to work with partners. In the beginning of the year I couldn’t work with a partner or partners, because it was difficult to do, I always never did work when they wanted to and when I did work I forgot I had a partner. It started to fail my grade and their grade also, so I had to learn and deal with working together in groups. Now I am able to work in groups with other people and do better, I plan to get better at it though for my Sophomore year to be a better student.
Portfolio – Greatest Obstacle of Freshman Year
My biggest obstacle this year in this class was the time glider project. It was the most difficult because I couldn’t figure how to work the program or figure out the facts I needed to know. I needed more help, but when it was time to turn it in I didn’t get the help I needed so I gave up and didn’t care. I think it changed me because my grade went low, and I couldn’t afford to have a low grade. So now when I have a hard project I try harder and ask for a lot of help.

CST Testing Reflection
The CST or California Standardize testing, I took the CSTs on Monday and Tuesday that is all the testing for me I believe. I feel good about my testing because I think I did a good job, and I hope that I tested so that I can be in a higher math class next year. It was really boring though to read all the information, and then have to read after it, I think it was way too much reading at one time. I feel bad for the sophomores because they had to test today and the freshman didn’t! Then next year we are going to have to test like the sophomores did. I think I would be super ready next year, even though I don’t do good in History, its not my favorite subject at all, but I will worry about that next school year when I get to make fun of all the new fresh-meat!

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection
The fourth quarter kick off was kind of fun. I didn't want to go to school though because I thought it was going to be really boring. When I went to the flagpole where the freshman were supposed to meet. We got put on teams and went on a scavenger hunt, we all went and found all of our clues and was left with a box of cereal! When we all meet in the tech center we made monkey mix. I liked making it and eating it. All every freshman went to Ms.Preister's room to make monkeys! I was the one who got to hang them up on the wall, some of them fell down though. It was lunch after that, it was really loud and gave me a headache. We played games next the first one was a relay, my team won!!! (Team 4). Then we played softball, we lost of course. Next was in the gym, I played that and had a lot of fun even though we lost. It was an awesome day, and I lost some weight!

My Fourth Quarter Goals
My greatest accomplishment of last quarter was that I didn’t fail any classes, and was able to keep my grades up! I was able to complete this by doing my homework and asking for help when I needed too!!! It was easy for me though because I have great teachers like Ms. Priester and J’J.
My goal for the fourth quarter is to have no missing assignments for any class, and to complete the yearbook on time.

“American History” Memorable Day Paragraph
The day I remember most is on July 11, 2009. I was in a shop with my first foster mom. I remember me, my sister, and the other girl, who was living there. We were in the back of the soap shop, when a staff came to pick me up so I could go see my dad. When I got to the place where my dad was I got into an argument with the lady that worked there. I got to see my dad and he gave me a DSi, I loved that thing and I never lost it. I will always remember that day because it was my first birthday in the system and the first day I ever got to see my dad after about two or three months.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection
My goals for the thrid quater are, to achieve a higher GPA than a 3.5, and have no missing assignments.
What I have been to doing to achieve these goals is to make sure I complete homework! I am finsihing my homework well and I have been keeping my grades up. Sadly I need to check my grade book more often to check if Im missing work. I expect to feel like I succeded because I know that I can reach a 3.67 GPA with one B and one B+, I should easily reach a 4.0 GPA if I stay focused and complete my work with 100%.

Poetry Experience Paragraph
I like poetry so I think I am going to have fun learning about it. I know that not all poetry has to rhyme or even make sense. I also know that poems have a lot of meaing to them or they dont have a lot of meaning. I studiedpoetry from the book before, by reading poems and the teacher explaining them to me. In love poetry and I write for fun and I have posted some of mine to my blog. I hope to learn what the real meaing being poems is and get a better understaing on it.

Symbolism and Allegory Unit Reflection
Over the past two week me and my class study about symbolism and allegory. I learned about symbolism by reading a story and having to create a poster. The poster was on the story “The Grandfather” by Gary Soto. I learned about allegory by reading the story “The Skull and Arrow”. The assignment I had to do to that was write about if I was in the mans’ place. My favorite assignment was making the poster with my partner Pablo. The assignment that I lived for allegory was reading in “the cave”. I liked them because they were fun and creative. This lesson for this part of the year changed my mind that a lot of things in this world mean a lot more than they can seem.
